Unlike conventional galvanised chassis that require grinding away the protective zinc coating before welding engine mounts, our innovative design features bolt on engine mounting plates. The chassis itself is fully galvanised for maximum corrosion resistance, while the removable bare steel mounting plates allow engine mounts to be welded and modified without damaging or contaminating the galvanised chassis.

This galvanised Defender chassis design gives builders complete flexibility when choosing an engine. Whether you’re fitting a Cummins, BMW M57, Mercedes Benz OM606, LS3, TD5, or another powerplant, the engine mounts can be fabricated directly onto the removable plates before simply bolting them onto the chassis.
